Social Dialogue

The Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union of Ukraine (MTWTU) is a party to the General Agreement on the Regulation of Basic Principles and Norms of Implementation of Socio-Economic Policy and Labor Relations in Ukraine, which is concluded at the government level, and is also a signatory to the Sectoral Agreement between the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Federation of Employers of Transport of Ukraine, and the Joint Representative Body of Trade Unions in the field of maritime transport (developed and concluded at the initiative of MTWTU).

Based on the Sectoral Agreement in the field of maritime transport concluded by MTWTU, the primary trade union organizations of our Trade Union conduct a constant social dialogue with employers at the local level – to conclude collective agreements on the ground.

MTWTU consistently carries out work aimed at developing social dialogue with central executive authorities and employers, other governmental and non-governmental institutions – both in Ukraine and abroad. MTWTU actively participates in the work of the Joint Representative Body of representative trade unions at the national level, provides its proposals and comments on draft legislative acts submitted for approval by their developers and central executive authorities.

Representatives of the Trade Union at various times have been delegated, worked, and continue to work as members of:

the sectoral tripartite socio-economic council of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine;
the expert council under the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine;
the public council under the State Labor Service of Ukraine;
the Ukraine-EU Civil Society Platform;
the bilateral socio-economic council in the field of maritime transport;
the expert working group in the field of investment activity under the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on improving legislation;
the expert working group under the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine in the field of maritime transport;
the commission on licensing employment mediation for work abroad;
the working group of the trade union side on the development and approval of the General Agreement, etc.
